Career Fairs

Whether you are attending an in-person or virtual event, career fairs are a great way to gain brand recognition with students on campus. Connect with talented students and alumni from WVU’s 193 different degree programs at one of our upcoming events.

Information Sessions

Hosting an in-person or virtual information session is one of the easiest ways to attract students and establish a corporate presence on campus. These events help you provide students with information about career opportunities in your organization and enable students to ask questions in an informal manner. Information sessions can be exceptionally successful when done in partnership with student organizations, a featured alumni from your organization, or prior to campus interviews. Information sessions may be scheduled for 60-minute sessions with optional space for networking post-event. This service includes coordination and promotion of your event via Handshake and email blasts, as well as a dedicated host the day of your event. Career Services staff are also available to arrange food or beverage orders for your event. On-site parking is provided for information sessions.

On-Campus Interviews

Our employer relations team will assist you in scheduling and promoting your virtual or in-person campus interviews to qualified students. On-campus interview rooms are available Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. and must be reserved in advance. Interview requests can be submitted through Handshake or email.

Classroom Presentations

Classroom presentations are an effective way to connect with students and market your company’s open positions to targeted audiences on-campus. Classroom presentations are in high demand and subject to professor approval, so we are not able to accommodate all requests. Each request will be evaluated by a Career Services team member on a case-by-case basis.

Faculty Interactions

Connecting with faculty is one of the most effective ways to identify and recruit the right talent for your organization. We can schedule a faculty meet and greet in person or virtually, as well as organize Lunch-and-Learns or networking sessions to discuss curriculum and research collaboration. Per WVU recruiting guidelines, we ask employers not to cold call/email university staff. Career Services team members will work with you to facilitate meetings and events with faculty members.

Student Orgs

West Virginia University has more than 400 student organizations and clubs. Promote opportunities within your company by speaking at meetings or volunteering at club events. Presentation topics might include "Building Your Personal Brand & Professional Network," "Personal Finance 101," or Resume Writing and Interviewing Skills." Student organizations are a great source of emerging leaders. Learn how to become more involved by visiting: studentorgs.wvu.edu.

Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives

Diversity and inclusion hiring initiatives have become increasingly popular for our employer partners. Career Services is proud to partner with WVU’s Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to offer D&I programming such as panels, round tables, networking events, and small group discussions with targeted minority groups on campus. Most D&I Career events will take place during WVU’s Diversity Week. Reach out to a Career Services team member to discuss your company's unique hiring needs and ways to get involved with D&I initiatives on campus.

Experiential Learning

We recognize the impact experiential learning opportunities can have on student academic outcomes, growth in skillsets, and success in college and beyond. Our Experiential Learning Program is designed to assist in connecting students and employers in developing career-related learning opportunities in an internship, cooperative education (co-op), volunteer, service-learning, or externship experiences. Experiential learning can also include research, study abroad, and field practicums to name a few. Career Services can connect organizations providing these opportunities with qualified students.
