What is Handshake?

Handshake is the fast and powerful recruiting platform for sourcing WVU students and alumni. It uses cutting edge technology to better connect employers with qualified candidates. Handshake works a lot like LinkedIn, the professional networking site. Students can build profiles highlighting their academic accomplishments, skills and extracurricular activities, and then make those profiles visible to companies on Handshake that have connected with their university.

Why should I use Handshake?

In Handshake, you have access to apply for thousands of internships, jobs and other opportunities. You can easily schedule appointments, RSVP for events or sign-up for an on-campus interview. You can also store your resume, cover letter, and other documents to use for each application. Handshake is customizable to your needs. By entering your career interests you can see relevant positions that matter most to you.

What do I need to do as a student?

Handshake is more than just a job posting site—it’s a career services management tool designed for WVU students and alumni. To log in, students use the same credentials as WVU Login. Make sure to update your profile!
