West Virginia University Career Services has partnered with Forage to bring you immersive job simulations designed to build career-ready skills directly from top employers.

Forage is a free online platform that offers employer-designed job simulations called “programs.” These programs let you build skills and explore different careers by completing real-world tasks—just like you would as an employee at that company.

After selecting a program, you’ll work through a series of materials and assignments created by the employer to mirror the work of an intern or entry-level employee. Each program takes about 5–6 hours to complete and is entirely self-paced, so you can participate whenever it fits your schedule.

Programs include:

  • Video instructions and materials created by employees within your chosen organization
  • Work that reflects real day-to-day tasks of interns and graduates
  • The chance to compare your work with that of an employee at your chosen organization
