Parents & Families

As part of the Mountaineer family, parents, families, and supporters are encouraged to engage in WVU social and educational activities and enjoy the Mountaineer experience alongside their students. Explore the resources below to learn more about supporting your student and staying connected with the campus community.

Mountaineer Parents Club

Mountaineer Parents Club provides support and establishes effective communication with parents and family through multiple channels, including a toll-free helpline, social media, newsletters, and personalized e-mail updates about pertinent information and upcoming events on campus, including:

  • Bi-weekly Parent E-Newsletter
  • Updates on billing deadlines
  • Information about payment plans
  • Grade posting notifications
  • Other timely information

WVU parent and guest portal

WVU parent and guest portal is an online system that allows students to grant third parties access to their academic records.

Information that is protected from disclosure pursuant to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), such as grades, financial aid details, and student account and billing information is maintained in a secure online environment. A student may grant permission to a parent or guest to access some or all of this information via two portals:

  • To view grades, financial aid, schedule details, holds, contact information, and to call with questions (including those about billing) – students must grant access via  Parent/Guest Portal .
  • To view charges and pay bills online, students must also grant access to the new WVU MyAccount Portal
